The takeaway was encouraging but not magical. Neural models can estimate heart and respiration signals in a vehicle, but cabin motion and lighting still make the problem hard.
Third, review papers keep pointing toward multimodal fusion. The 2022 Sensors review on driver drowsiness detection argued that no single signal solves the whole problem. Eye closure alone is useful.
